Posts about Ethics and Philosophy
What is the State of Philosophy and Ethics of the Future? Building my career path now and can't figure out how.
In my 3rd Year University, pursuing Computer and Electrical Engineering.
found myself gravitating towards Philosophy and Ethics ever since I took an online course with Yale University 2 years ago.
I do wish to pursue further in both arenas, possibly an amalgamation of both.
My concerns at the moment are:
What is the state of philosophy/ ethics/ morality as a field in the future?
Upon doing brief research, I found myself resonating a lot with what an ex-Google employee, Tristan Harris is doing as a tech-ethicist. What is the future prospect of this or anything akin to it?
Any suggestions for education path? Ie. taking a full degree course of Philosophy next, or Masters in Engineering with a minor in Philosophy.
What are the possible alternative career paths?
Thanking to those who entertain this post in advance.
edit: for anyone interested, I'm currently trying to get in touch with the original advisor for the club (who hasn't responded yet!). I'll put updates here, and if all goes well, will make another post when things are up and running since it seems like there was quite a bit of interest on this sub :)
