Posts about Religion and Spirituality
I saw someone recently say "Religion is for people afraid to go to hell. Spirituality is for people who have been to hell and back. I've been to hell and back several times. I am on my way back there now.
I am not a victim. I accept responsibility for everything that happens in my existence. I could change my thinking, ignore all the darkness and evil and pain and disappointment and focus on the good and my blessings. I could turn around but the darkness and the hell just seems more true.... Deep down I know this is what I deserve and hell is where I belong. I think hell is my home. I don't think I care to come back this time.
Your MBTI and your view on religion and spirituality? Not just your religion, but also religion as a concept
I don’t believe certain types are more inclined to different religions exactly, but is there any correlation between cognitive functions and how we view spirituality and religion?
I’m an INFP, and I’m a former Catholic currently using Agnostic as my religious label. I’ve grown up solely going to Catholic education, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve felt that I don’t particularly have any strong belief in a deity. I do acknowledge that people can use faith as a tool for getting through their lives or as a source of stability and enlightenment, but I see it more as part of a person’s culture. I also don’t identify with the church’s teachings anymore, as my personal beliefs and my identity don’t align with the church.
I’d be really curious to see how others view their religion!
Edit: Thanks for the silver, kind stranger! It’s so fascinating seeing so many different perspectives and backgrounds related to religion, and I’ve enjoyed reading through all of them. I haven’t been able to make out any trends related to MBTI types, but people of all sorts of types were sharing varying views, even people of the same type having different takes!
Hello COMRADES. I am NOT religious, but spiritual. I saw some political compass memes about religion. They said that the libleft quadrant is also practicing spirituality but NOT religion, just like ME. Is this stereotype true for most anarchists, or is it only me??
Im in dire need of more Neo-Pagan participants! If you fit into this category or know someone who does, please complete and share :)
Hi everyone! My name is Rasheeda, and I am currently an undergraduate psychology student studying at the University of Buckingham in the UK. I’m looking for participants for my dissertation where I investigate how Religion and Spirituality affect happiness in people along with the importance of Religion and Spirituality. My study is focused on the Abrahamic faiths (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) and Neo-Pagan faiths (Druidry, Heathenry, Wiccan, etc.). If you’re 18+ and follow one of these, I would really appreciate your participation :) Thank you!
